This was very good it's a buffet table service just for the sushi and I like that better then traditional buffet
Everything was fresh some of the cooked food had " cross complications " not contaminated
I use complication because I have sever allergies and someone ahead of me handled oysters then chicken with the same tongs
But everything else was fine -

Service staff is very polite. Not very talkative, but very quick to assist with taking away plates and refilling drinks nearly every part of the sushi bar has a fresh delicious taste, some of the fried sushi is a bit tough but if your lucky and get some fresh out of the fryer your in for a mouth full of heaven. It's hard to have just 1 plate not just because it's a buffet, but because the food is great! Only part that is off putting is there's not a wide selection of cooked food but desert is by far my favorite the coffee cake is always sweet and moist

for the past 3 years, this has been my go-to sushi joint. great prices for quality fish (especially nigiri & sashimi during dinnertime). the main complaint I have with sushi buffets is that they stuff too much rice in the sushi & nigiri - well not this place! perfect amount of rice in the nigiri during lunch and dinnertime. the sushi itself is average. the rolls kinda fall apart itself but the flavor is still there. sometimes during dinner, the staff will forget some of the items on the menu so you'll have to order twice to get what you want. lunch also has nigiri too but their selections are limited (yellowtail, tuna, white tuna, & salmon). hibachi is subpar but also available for the non-fish eaters (ribeye & flounder available for dinner only). the buffet section is limited too but I can't express how good their coconut shrimp is. the waitresses and manager are always so kind and accommodating to my friends everytime we come in. this is a cheaper priced sushi buffet so treat it as one - its all about quantity over quality but this place is definitely the best in town if you're looking for a great fulfilling meal.
(update: they have fried banana now!! i recommend trying it with vanilla ice cream ) -

I was trying to share my sushi *which would not affect the price* with a friend and they watched us the whole time and then told us i couldn't let him have some of my sushi. felt like my privacy was being invaded and we were going to split the price but since we couldn't share JUST the sushi i had to pay the full *and ridiculous* 20 dollar price.

Buffets. If you read my reviews, you would probably know what I think of them. Even though I would never come back to makino's I'm sure there are plenty of people who would say that this place is worth going. I'm going to sum up my experience on a Sunday night.
I get there, get seated. I went here for a birthday party and plus, might as well check it out since I've never been. They give a table of 10 people a sushi order sheet, we order, and when we get our sushi, notice that a lot of the sushi we ordered never made it on the table. Okay...maybe we're in the wrong. We never see the waiter again or does she ever check in on us and ask if our order was correct. I would think we would get another order sheet for sushi, but that never happened.
So let's try out the buffet, maybe they can make it up. Coming from other reviews they had AYCE oysters, crab legs, etc. When I get up there, half of the foods that they were offering were empty. There were no oysters or crab legs. This place was trying to cut costs as much as possible. I tried out the hibachi as well and, standing around for 10 minutes, I only got a couple of pieces of meat that was bland.
I wonder if they still charged the same price as they did when they did offer good food. I got out spending about $16 plus tax.. for pathetic food. Even though it was AYCE you can find something around town cheaper and better. I hate that Asian food has to be presented like this, but I guess that's just something I have to get used to. It makes me sad and I'm definitely not saying all buffets are bad. This spot just worse than any other buffet I've been to.
